Janet “Betsy” Hanlon is Director of Finance at Climate Advisers, where she oversees all aspects of accounting, reporting, business analysis and other aspects of firm operations.
Betsy is a senior finance and operations executive who has worked for organizations in professional services, biotech, telecommunications, education and arts sectors, including several multinational organizations. She has extensive experience managing change in organizations from start-ups to mid-size, doing strategic planning, financing, streamlining operating procedures, and implementing new systems to improve the quality and timeliness of information and analysis. In her career, she has served as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Board Member and Treasurer of public, private, nonprofit and development-stage companies.
Throughout her career, Betsy has managed budgets, accounting, reporting and operations for multiple offices, programs and lines of business within organizations. She has focused on internal processes, operations and systems, but also has experience with corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and other capital structure activities. She has also managed real estate transactions, contracts, benefits and other administrative activities.
Betsy received her BA in Philosophy from the College of William and Mary, an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a nonprofit management executive certificate from Georgetown University.
